The demonstrations in Paris about changes to workers rights continue while in the south of France there are other problems. Tensions have risen along the Spanish and French border. Early Wednesday morning French farmers hijacked several tankers carrying Spanish wine into France for sale and dumped the wine onto the motorway. The Farmers union in France says that it can’t compete with the Spanish prices.

The wine in question was to be sold for 45 Euro for each 100 liters. The Union says it will keep hijacking trucks if this pricing continues and the French police seem to be siding with the farmers by not arresting anybody.

Meanwhile in Spain Their farmers are protesting the loss of their product and the government is upset with France for not respecting the EU free trade. No telling how many liters of wine will be lost as this dispute continues but it is sad news for winos everywhere to see the waste.
