Who the hell is De Mus? That question is making the rounds in the Underground Club Scene in Holland this Summer.
The bizarre, haunting and sometimes uplifting musical works of De Mus gained notoriety in the “club scenes” in Holland largely in part to covers and mixes by experimental DJ’s. If you’ve been to any “raves” or “clubs in Northern Europe this Summer there’s a chance that you’ve already experienced the works of De Mus without even knowing it. Now some “clubbers” are starting to wonder where these tracks, beats and rhythms origins lie.
Enter the self proclaimed one-man musician, producer and G-man, De Mus.
De Mus himself tells us a very little. His online bio reads…
A hard-working Dutch bureaucrat and pen pusher by Day, by Night the dedicated and inspirational leader of the one-man band De Mus (The Sparrow). De Mus is the founder of the attic punk married with the melancholy little brother of the garage.
My Goal? Make the women dance and the men cry!
Zomertrip (Summer Trip)

Latvian Games and Entertainment guru Klikki Ahvatis recently caught a De Mus event in The Hague…
The music of De Mus is starting to grow in the public concious, even creeping across the Channel into the London club scene. I don’t what he (or her) is saying. Maybe the Dutch do?. But maybe that lack of understanding is the key to the sound? Or maybe I am missing something deeper?!
You can find out more (but not a lot) by visiting the De Mus Facebook page.
